Having fun onlineWelcome to the 05 August 2008 enewsletter
This week we highlight some of the fun to be had on the internet. Our webmaster, Drew, has selected his five favourite sites - and also handled that hardest of questions - a PC or a Mac - which is better? Debbie takes you on a quick tour of our site, particularly the puzzles, word games and competitions, including the opportunity to win one of four DVDs of Are you being served, Series Eight. Feedback on Geoff's blog on alternative energy has been really interesting - with most subscribers agreeing that new technologies have a long way to go. Another hot topic on the Meeting Place is the rumour that the NSW (and perhaps QLD) governments are planning to discontinue "off peak" tariffs for hot water systems. For those who are carers, we encourage you to contribute your thoughts to the Carers2020 online summit for submission to the government. Travel express this week highlights rail adventures in Canada and QLD as well as a special pass for international visitors who are keen to experience the amazing Ghan or Indian Pacific. And Bookshelf online features two excellent new books for those keen to hit the road in Australia and a reprint of a 1925 guide for golfers written by, you guessed it, Sandy Green! And what could be more fun than the Comfort food feature which gets the family into the kitchen to make Debbie's Pizza Faces? Enjoy!
