20 May VOL 08 Issue 21

Money matters

Welcome to the 20 May @boutSeniors enewsletter.

We have been overwhelmed by the flood of comments received in reply to our Budget summary - and not one of these is congratulating the Federal Government on their treatment of older Australians. Visit our Meeting Place to read these responses and post comments of your own.

Money is not necessarily the root of all evil, but it can complicate our lives, sometimes unnecessarily. A recent survey by the Australia Institute indicates that most of us are finding contracts and financial services forms just way too much information to wade through.

So we're here to offer useful information in plain English. Read more about superannuation contributions, mortgage stresses, male osteoporosis research and great travel deals below, or enjoy Debbie's review of the fabulous new movie, Then She Found Me, directed by Helen Hunt, and starring one of our favourite pin-up boys, Colin Firth.
And if you are still seeking some cold weather comfort, why not whip up a batch of Scottish lassie, Debbie's, Millionaire's Shortbread - or Caramel Slice as it's known in the Antipodes.
Last week's poem about Grandpa raised a few chuckles, hopefully the women's remote received from Trevor and Dawn will do the same!

Keep smiling
David & Kaye Fallick
