Productive ageing

Welcome to the 06 May @boutSeniors enewsletter.

Fine wine ages, people get old, it's a fact of life. This week @boutSeniors show you ways to add years to your life, and life to your years.

Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot announced that Labor have delivered on their pre-election promise, appointing an Ambassador for Ageing - Australian icon, Noeline Brown. Highlighting that getting older doesn't mean having to give up on life, we have lots of tips on staying healthy, find out how to recognise a stroke, keep your medication in check and stimuate your mind by learning something new.

Check out our reviewed books this week for ways to combat heart disease and stay young and fit for longer. After last week's naughty-but-nice fudge recipe, we've got a healthy, hearty soup to warm you up. For all of you who want to know where to get butterscotch chips, try www.usafoods.com.au for lots of tasty and useful ingredients.

As its Mother's Day this Sunday, Geoff reflects on the life of his own mother and the importance of mothers in general, read Geoff's blog. Travel should be fun, no matter what your age and we have great deals for luxurious Bora Bora, or fun in the snow if winter activities are more your style.

Now we've got you living longer and enjoying life to the full, a financial health check is in order. Financial planning week will soon be upon us - 19 to 25 May 2008 and with labor's first federal election looming, it's a good time to check on the coffers. If you've got a few pennies to spare, treat yourself to some relaxing spa treatments, they don't need to cost the earth.

David and Kaye return from their travels next week, so look out for their tales from Peru.

Take care
Debbie and Drew
