18 March VOL 08 Issue 10

Seniors' Week Activities

Welcome to the 18 March @boutSeniors enewsletter.

This week we are highlighting the many interesting, challenging and fun activities during NSW Seniors Week. In particular we are thrilled to be working with the Telstra Connected Seniors program delivering free (yes FREE) seminars on understanding and making the most of technology - mobile phones, internet and more. If you do not live in NSW, fear not, we will progressively feature all seniors week activities as they roll out in other states during 2008, so make sure you are a subscriber.

We have also finally received feedback on the adequacy (or otherwise) of the pension from the Opposition Spokesperson, the Hon Tony Abbot, but the Minister, Jenny Macklin, is still missing in action. The decision by the Rudd Government not to reverse the carers and seniors allowance is a start - but the Age Pension remains inadequate and we will continue to raise this issue at every opportunity.

And to leave you with a laugh, we have had a great response to the St Patrick's Day request for Irish jokes - Debbie has uploaded your jokes, even a couple she considers "borderline". See what you think.

Kind regards
David and Kaye Fallick
