Cheap Flights & Airfares

Take flight

With more and more people opting to holiday in their own countries this year, now is a great time to grab a bargain on overseas flights.

Online travel company Travel.com.au are urging Australians to look at overseas travel as airlines slash prices in a bid to out-do each other. Fares around the world are being discounted by up to 40%, making overseas travel more affordable than ever.

If you are flexible with your travel dates, you can grab a flight to London for $1600, compared with $2500 this time last year and flights to LA can be booked for $1000 and Bangkok for $700.

Tips for nabbing a great fare include:
· be flexible with your travel dates
· when you see a fare that fits your budget, book it straight away before someone else nabs your seat
· check travel websites daily as new deals are issued everyday
· focus on destinations that won’t burst the purse strings
· sign up to travel newsletters and get the deals straight into your Inbox

Affordable airfares

With domestic fares at a 17-year low, now is the time to hop on a plane and visit parts of Australia you’ve never seen, or revisit your favourite destination.

According to figures from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE), full economy fares have fallen 21.6% compared to this time last year. The best discount rates around are almost half of the fares recorded in 1993. These fares are usually conditional and don’t offer a checked baggage option but are still value for money if you’re ready to take off anytime.

Tiger Airways
Jetstar

Adelaide flights for $39.95

The increase in the number of weekly flights Tiger Airways operates from Melbourne to Adelaide will help fill the gap created by Qantas’ decision to cut flights into Adelaide.

As travel costs increase, the rise of the cut-price airline is sure to escalate. Tiger Airways have announced that they will now fly from Melbourne to Adelaide three times each weekday, helping to increase tourism to South Australia and give travellers a greater, more economical choice of travel.

There is no getting away from the fact that cut-price airlines offer a no-frills service but on short routes, such as Melbourne to Adelaide, this is not so much a concern for the budget-minded traveller.

With flights on sale from $39.95 one way, Tiger Airways is fast becoming the preferred chapter and as more people use the service, the routes on offer will increase.

The next time you travel, save money and check out the routes offered by Tiger Airways.

Airfares for seniors

When travelling long haul, it’s always worthwhile asking your agent or airline direct, what services they offer for older travellers. Many offer discounts or added services to make travelling such long distances more comfortable. Below are some of the discounts and offers available:

Cheap alternative airfares

There’s much in the news at the moment about budget airlines not looking after their customers but some of the time we only hear about the bad things.

Budget airlines are a good alternative if you’re flexible and not too worried about having to pay for your own drinks on board and are incredibly popular all over the world.

If you are a budget conscious traveller, can travel at the less popular hours of the day, then why not give TigerAirways a try and use the money you save to enjoy a little luxury when you reach your destination. For more information, visit TigerAirways.
